Broad. Strong. Focused. He seduces me with his flirtation. Warms me with his care. But he's hiding something. There are ulterior motives beyond his concern for my security. A thirst for more than my safekeeping.

this was a great 2nd in a series book. I loved Hunter and Sara's involvement and deckers backstory . it was a nice twist and surprise. Ms Eden has a great way of prolonging the suspense that wants you to turn up the speed dial but it's soooooo good when you wait.
if a listener wants closure on the continuing backstory then TORIAN is it.
I like the female narrator. and D.C. Cole has a great voice with good inflection...but in places I didn't buy deckers position....but meh.....I have my favourites

I wasn't looking for his kind of trouble. It found me anyway. Tall. Dark. Addictive. He unravels me with his kisses. Melts me with his touch. But he has secrets. A hidden agenda beyond his craving for me. A desire for more than tangled silk sheets and our sweat-slicked skin. I need to run. From him. From the lies. But running from the hunter means I've now become the prey.

I've never been in love. I've never had an orgasm, but I've faked plenty. I want to experience love. Real, passionate love. I don't want to die. It's funny what blurts out of your mouth when the plane you're on is going down, and I didn't hold back with my seat mate when my plane decided to crash. My hysterical confessions didn't faze the muscular stranger that sat beside me. In fact, he promised if we survived, he'd give me my first orgasm.

I'm used to dual narrator's and even though Madeleine did a great job, her male voice made the hero sound dumb. it started to draw out a bit too long and I seriously wanted Rory to grow a set and tell her dad where to get off. it frustrated me a bit. also hero's POV would have been so much better so we understNd his silence instead of asking the question of why is he acting so docile.
all in all, ok but not into this author or solo narrator

I forgot about this authors writing style and I seriously struggled to finish it.
everything is too quick in the beginning ...lose your virginity, fall in love, her pregnant, get married all in 2 months.???? didn't do it for me. the storyline was on the way to being a good suspense, then dissolved into mush....the family, the jobs the boys held, their past.....didn't come over as convincing.....not again with this author...she should stick to simple family and babies and HEA'S.
The narrator's...I've heard better

I hired her to be my girlfriend. To fix my reputation. To save my career. It's not that I don't want a girlfriend. I do. I want it all. Wife, kids, side-by-side burial plots. The problem is - I can't have any of it. So I've made myself untouchable. The quintessential bachelor of baseball. Because it's not worth the risk. Not even for someone I love. Especially not for someone I love. We made the arrangements. We agreed to a contract. It's iron clad. No sex. No love. No future.

It was my home run ball that shattered her face. Right along with her modeling career. Now it's my mission to help her rebuild her life. And get her to love the game that she hates. The game that dictates my life both on and off the field. But when the lines of our friendship become blurred, I worry she'll just be another casualty of my three-strikes rule. The rule I have to protect my money, my future, my heart. No girl has ever broken it. I've never wanted one to. Until now.

first listen to this author and I found a lot of loose endings..which kept me asking questions that needed to be answered.
I think the hero is strong and substantial enough that the BDSM stuff didn't grab me at all, he didn't have to use it to reinforce his alpha.
the heroine turns on a dime...with him as is he is its understandable but I see loop holes that begs attention, I just don't get it.
LOVVED THE narrator's.. just found the storyline weak

Skylar Mitchell didn't believe in fate. She never wanted a real boyfriend. She never wanted her own kid. When she watched her sister get destroyed by the man she loved, she vowed it wouldn't happen to her. Don't fall in love. Don't become attached. Don't let yourself feel. Easy, right? Griffin and Erin Pearce had the perfect life. With the perfect house. And the perfect jobs. What they didn't have was the perfect baby. Skylar never counted on meeting Erin. She never imagined finding this wonderful best friend who would change the way she looked at the world.

couldn't quite see this as a convincing story. there was a lot of seesawing back and forth with both hero and heroine. the hero lost the alpha persona in my opinion and there was a lot of angst and guilt that in this type of story should be there, but I didn't feel that the author pulled it off, I just felt it was going in circles, unlike book 1 and definitely book 4. if you love babies and all that goes with it, then this will delight you.... I think pipers story will redeem Ms Christy.....for me anyway
