wow, this is why writers write, the storyline and subplots kept you listening. plenty of twists in the back half of the book and of course Ms Jane has set up yet another plot and subplot nicely. Troy and Elizabeth did a stellar job as per usual. the only familiar in the books is the plot running a bit thin on acceptability when the heroine gets into trouble. I said this in the previous book, the president of an MC made an unprecedented decision in book 2 which spiralled the heroine into trouble I thought it was a Dick move and not really something that this president would do. especially the way he has been portrayed. now I'm saying it again here, the VP of the MC did at least 3 Dick moves that isn't really what he's described as being. it jeoparrdised the heroine...hmmmm.....of course she had more to do with it as well. and the other thing that annoys me is the overcooked family, loyalty, trust card that keeps getting repeated. granted it's said from a different character POV every time but it kinda makes the MC sound like angels, not outlaws....they are what they are, nothing needs the overkill that crops up time and again in every book. ok, that being said,on the plus side, I still love the family and their interactions. it shows they are, at the base of everything..human and fallable. (I think MC's world wide would probably disagree with the authors interpretation) i love the writing, love the way it keeps moving and in this book, just when you think it's all said and done 2 more bombshells drop! well done Ms Jane. this series can be described simply....it's alpha, it's hot, it's angst, it's full of shocks and surprises and most of all, it's the club girls POV more so than the alphas....although in this book the heroine wasn't a club girl.

another goody

great storyline...lots going on and lots of angst and twists. I thought I'd had it figured but nope , I got it wrong. it was a longer than I think it had to be, drawn out..by a least 4 chapters....and if I hadn't read the blurb on book 3 I wouldn't have figured out one piece...SO.... don't read the blurb on book 3 as it can be a spoiler....loved Troy and Elizabeth.... and I love the brothers...makes an MC look half good..not lawless, men. 😊

woo hoo keep the heroines strong

1st read from me for Ms Jane and I have to say it was pretty damn awesome. I've been delving into a lot of MC books and from the soul wrenching darker side by tillie Cole to the lighter side by Lily atlas, this one was more in the middle. it had a good plot with angst and kept the MC rules and regulations in tact. written from a club girl POV the heroine glassed their job and options nicely, which doesn't really fit with every other MC club girl. but this is a different POV so I thought outside the lines of basic "muffler bunnies" . the storyline thinned a little in terms of how the heroine got into trouble, then how she got out of it tied in nicely with the MC, as expected. the big clash, for me, was kind of a let down, I was waiting for all hell to break loose....but again it ties in.....and Ms Jane leaves everything teetering nicely for Chelsea, book 2. no cliffhangers...just an Interesting bit of info. troy was perfect for the heroes voice and subsequent other males characters and Elizabeth....she sounded very young but harmony states she's 23, so I guess it fits. I've heard Elizabeth in other books and she definately has a tone that makes her sound older. the coolest thing is that Ms Jane is friends with author Carian Cole, who I have read...so when the rock band Ashes & Embers popped up I had to investigate. sure enough that's Ms Cole's series which I might add are pretty gut wrenching in some and light in others but awesome just the same. I wasn't going to read Chelsea but I'm intrigued....

I was waiting for the grit to come out and for rock to harden up a little. but this is really just a love story that ambled along at its own pace. in fact it's just like the MC stands as a front for the simple contemporary romance that the author has written. there are times that I feel I've got the gist of what the author is trying to tell. it's like the heroine is bringing a different approach as an old lady towards the club creating a new direction but in saying that I think rock needs to grow some big ones because he constantly lies to her and it comes around to bit him in the arse. this happens a lot of times in the 2 book and you can get away with it once or twice but for the last two books it just keeps happening. eyerroll moments... I still think it's on the mild side for an MC club and for a president I think he has softened up way too much for the love of a woman. I don't know if it's the author's intent to portray this in the storyline or whether it's just how I'm thinking, however I still can't get a grip on the heroines age of 33 and even though i know she's led a sheltered upright life, she's just too naive in my opinion. This book still didn't have any twist or turns or angst and I really don't think I can do book 3 regardless of what the dust cover says, and quite often the dust cover has peaked more interest from me than the book itself so I'm thinking of going to have to leave it here. if any of you like a light MC book read and a total steamy love driven book then have a listen but if you like a little bit of angst some twists and some turns and maybe a faster pace this is one that's not for you. if you looove troys voice he may very well sway you.

for an MC pres rock is a bit on the tame side. maybe it's because it's book 1 and we'll see the dark side in book 2. things happened pretty quick in terms of storyline, although it was a span of 2 years. all in All, it moved well although heroine seems to be portrayed in her thought pattern as younger as her 30 something years. I'm thinking it's because she's been with all but one man her whole life and it has been a clean, domestic bliss with no lawlessness involved...even though she's a lawyer. troy just makes you melt and I like noelle's voice...(1st time for me) I've listened to a lot of gritty, gut wrenching MC books (tillie Cole!) but this mild...so far, we'll see in book 2

well im glad i got to read this series and I thought all were good except for ride. troy is awesome and full of biker grit vocals, and Anastasia did well. the steamy scenes were just that but it would be nice to have a little variety in theses scenes, Ms Loveling writes the same methodology every scene, every book. I'm kinda getting over it. not to mention it be nice if the guys liked a bit more from their women than just sex. there doesn't seem to be any other qualities about them described in the books. great plot, liked the inclusion of the previous characters but "thats all she wrote"

this was a nice, sweet story...of Eva! the trig from book 2 wasn't here....that's how it felt anyway. Eva was a wimp....I just couldn't wrap my head around her thought process and actions. the story had a lot of holes and was running pretty thin in a lot of places....there was no MC interaction, no angst, no twists or danger, no plot really...it was all about childhood grudges, past relationships, fear and 1 woman's conscience....nope not into this at all, surprised after the 1st 2 books..as this was nothing like them. it could have just been labelled another modern day love story...as it really had nothing to do with the stone kings. 1st listen to Anastasia which I felt had good tone and put some life Into Eva. and for what troy had to work with he saved the book..geez just love the gravel tones.....come on Daphne give me more MC good ones

have waiited awhile fot the rest of the series to come to audio. was a good read.and here come the alphas!! yay. I'd put this In the top 4 of MC stories. tillie Cole, tm frazier, Lily atlas, Daphne then kb winter. These authors are the only ones I've moved on thru a series. from tillie ..soul wrenching to winters...lightest read. enjoyed it's fast pace and the narrator's are good. my word troy I'm aflutter...your up there with Sebastian and Aiden and Tom hall, JF Harding amazing narration. steamy and good depth of storyline especially for the length of book

at last a voice worthy of Cross. I was hoping that this would not be as light as it was. cross had a lot of guilt and in all the earlier books seemed to be carrying a really big Burden , however the storyline was light on his guilt but was very well put together with twists and turns. there were a few holes that I found throughout the story especially an incident in chapter 16 which I won't say so as not to spoil. but it made me raise my eyebrows wondering where that idea came from. summer Morton was brilliant as moon I have listened to her before and she portrayed the perfect voice for her character. it started to get a bit soppy at the end but that's what HEA are about I guess. all-in-all nice ending to a series even though we have one more to go but I am guessing it will be a really frizzy read as the dust cover seems to suggest this. looking forward to hearing all the characters come together for a final farewell. I was going for the next book but then came the narrator...Alexander cendese...i avoid him at all costs..each to their own, but he ruined a gritty awesomw series by Helen hardt...a few books in and alexander became the narrator...oh my god his narrative is book destroying so never again....

is this book 4 or book 5???

KB Winters did a great technical computer geek job at piecing this plot line together but the characters of Vivi and Jag are so close to lasso and Rocky that you could have interchanged them. Both were strong Alphas and it was I'm leaving, I'm not leaving, I'm leaving, I'm not leaving which kind of made your eyes roll. This is the first semi cliffhanger in this series; you know that they are together but you don't see them together as yet, I'm betting book 6 will give us that. All in all though a good story, the computer, cyber security plot kept you thinking and listening but it was so close to book 4 I knew what was going to happen. the storyline virtually had the alpha heroine saving the day and not being trusted by the club, pushing Jag into moments parallel to Lasso with Rocky. I've e listened to Callie Dalton before and her voice is ok but didnt vary her tone enough to differentiate the female characters. Josh Goodman is a first for me and he did not change his inflection enough either, you had to really listen to figure who his speaking characters of the club were. and I still don't like the way that Cross's voice is portrayed I think the man is described in previous books as strong controlled, intense and the voice just does not match. p.s. And don't get me started on Saviour, some bloody "brother" he's turning out to be grrr
