Girt. No word could better capture the essence of Australia.... In this hilarious history, David Hunt reveals the truth of Australia's past, from megafauna to Macquarie - the cock-ups and curiosities, the forgotten eccentrics and Eureka moments that have made us who we are. Girt introduces forgotten heroes like Mary McLoghlin, transported for the crime of "felony of sock", and Trim the cat, who beat a French monkey to become the first animal to circumnavigate Australia.

Really enjoy learning our history, especially when delivered in such wit. I felt the point of view was fairly central, taking the piss from all those written about. A picture of the times was easily conjured from a well delivered performance. Looking forward to hearing more to flesh out more of our history from this entertaining author.

And not just unhealthy carbs, but even healthy ones like whole grains can cause dementia, ADHD, anxiety, chronic headaches, depression, and much more.

"I know what I should do. I just don't know why I don't do it." This phrase captures a universal human experience - we can't always get ourselves to do what we know is best for us. In Well Designed Life, you will learn that the solution to this stumbling block resides in coupling two disciplines: brain science and design thinking. Brain and behavior sciences have exploded in recent years. This catalyzes new insights into why we do what we do - and how we can change. We are living in the age of design - and designers are the new rock stars.

A pioneer in the field of behavioral science delivers a groundbreaking work that shows how finding your purpose in life leads to better health and overall happiness. Your life is a boat. You need a rudder. But it doesn't matter how much wind is in your sails if you're not steering toward a harbor - an ultimate purpose in your life. While the greatest philosophers have pondered purpose for centuries, today it has been shown to have a concrete impact on our health.

one of the chapters in the book teaches how to keep attention, ironic considering I had so much difficulty listening to the narrator. I don't know if it was due to poorly written text or the performance of Carter? I feel the content is important and I got a lot from it after listening a second time, perhaps this book is better suited to paper form?
