This story built up for a take-off but took the easy way out and stayed on a dull, tedious loop.

Story engaging enough but carried throughout by the superbly perfect narration and honest & charming characters.

So incredibly BORING!

skipped 2/3 of the book. The ending is as though somebody cut off the chapter midday. Waste of a book.

A symphony of perfection. An easy repeat listen.

Today in Scotland the laws appear to have been written by the ignorant, fearful superstitions of 17th century peasants whom seek guidance from the signs in tea leaf readings. Evidence, proof is not required.

if I'd picked this book up first, I'd never have read any others in the series. it doesn't even feel like the same author wrote it. No wonder he is saying is last in series. I think he is bored with it. However if it the last, it's a terrible ending. No respect for this story at all.

read many of M.C books. this one did not grab me.

Be it story or narrator or both, but this was an extraordinary flop. Not only slow moving, but moved from naught to naught.
