Yvonne Carmichael has worked hard to achieve the life that she always wanted: a high-flying career in genetics, a beautiful home, a good relationship with her husband and their two grown-up children. Then one day she meets a stranger at the Houses of Parliament and begins a passionate affair with him - a decision that will put everything she values at risk. At first she believes she can keep the relationship separate from the rest of her life, but she can't control what happens next.

I'm burning my way through all of Juliet Stevenson's audiobook. her voice breathes life into each of the characters; i was among them. i even found myself stupidly standing there gripped to my phone, unable to hit pause. thank you Juliet for uncovering another brilliant writer

outstanding story with many twists. I couldn't stop listening. in every chapter, more of the plot would unfold. captivating! Waters' gift of painting a picture so vividly kept me among the characters for the duration of the novel. stunningly read too, Juanita managed to portray every character (and there were many) with their own personality through only her reading.
cannot wait for the next riveting read.
thank you!

A brutal triple murder in a remote Scottish farming community in 1869 leads to the arrest of 17-year-old Roderick Macrae. There is no question that Macrae committed this terrible act. What would lead such a shy and intelligent boy down this bloody path? Presented as a collection of documents, His Bloody Project opens with a series of police statements taken from the villagers, which offer conflicting impressions, throwing Macrae's motive and his sanity into question.

Hidden in the heart of the old city of Barcelona is the 'cemetery of lost books', a labyrinthine library of obscure and forgotten titles that have long gone out of print. To this library, a man brings his 10-year-old son Daniel one cold morning in 1945. Daniel is allowed to choose one book from the shelves and pulls out 'La Sombra del Viento' by Julian Carax. But as he grows up, several people seem inordinately interested in his find.
