Story
Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Great story
Reviewed: 27-06-2020
Frank Herbert's "Dune" is a well loved, enduring and epic story. Has aged very well, despite being referenced (or outright stolen from) in more recent space adventures.
Sadly, the recording is not perfect. It switches from single reader to ensemble cast irregularly and without warning (main Narrator is excellent and should have just done the whole thing!)
There are also some editing issues with the starting syllable of many sentences being clipped or cut off entirely.
Both serve to break the flow and jolt one out of the story, which is a shame.

Story
The Resistance has been reborn. But although Rey and her fellow heroes are back in the fight, the war against the First Order, now led by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, is far from over. Rey, Finn, Poe and the Resistance must embark on the most perilous adventure they have ever faced. And this time, they’re facing it together. With the help of old friends, new allies and the mysterious guidance of the Force, the story that began in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and continued in Star Wars: The Last Jedi reaches an astounding conclusion.

I liked this book as a child; turns out it has aged really well! Still very enjoyable to revisit as an adult!
This is a real classic, from a celebrated New Zealand author - Margaret Mahy.
Performance also lovely, has a real joy of childhood to his tone.
So glad I got this!

Six years ago, Dr. Michael Mosley started a health revolution with the 5.2 Fast Diet, telling the world about the incredible power of intermittent fasting. In this audiobook he brings together all the latest science (including a new approach: Time Restricted Eating) to create an easy-to-follow program. Recent studies have shown that 800 calories is the magic number when it comes to successful dieting - it's an amount high enough to be manageable but low enough to speed weight loss and trigger a range of desirable metabolic changes.

Great scientific evidence, given in plain English and backed up by personal experience. I was very pleased to see the author reading his own work!
It's not well advertised in the Audio, but you do get a supplementary text including the recipes mentioned in the book. These recipes are not read aloud. You can also find a lot of recipes online such as Pinterest.
I've tried a few recipes already and they are actually really tasty!
Dieting is hard, calorie counting is hard. However, if you need to do it, I feel like this is the best way to do it.

I have to admit... I don't want to say BETTER than the movie, but it builds on it SO well! Answered a lot of questions, plugged a bunch of holes, explained, fleshed out the story, characters, motivations and settings. If you're a Star Wars fan, and you liked the movie - do yourself a favour and listen to this.
Most impressed by Marc Thompson's reading too, voices are very well done, for the most part. particularly Kylo Ren and Leia Organa - top marks!!

I found the voices reading VERY American, in tone and accent, which was a bit hard to slog through. And some of the comments seem snarky or sarcastic, to me.
However, persevering with the book was very worth it. I am now on my third reading of it, and am using as many of the "tools" offered as I can. I am genuinely seeing a difference in my emotional, stubborn, tantrum-y little 3 y/o boy. It is hard to remember in the heat of the moment, but I can feel it starting to become our "natural" way of parenting, and the more we practice the better we are becoming. I wish you luck with your parenting journey, and I hope this will help!

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
