I wish all horse folk would listen to Mark Rashid. I've read and listened to a few of his now and this one is excellent, as are all the others. Mike Chamerlain is not my favourite narrator, but the book is so good, with so many insights, that this is no longer an issue after about 5 minutes. I have so many bookmarks in this one and I am sure I will listen to it often. "The old man" comes through beautifully in the stories and I love how Mark explains his thought processes and how the principles of the teachings are the things which come through. Yes, yes and YES. Highly recommended.

This book had me in turns laughing out loud, thinking about values, feeling apprehensive and basically just had me hooked. It was read beautifully. The psychology of the characters was well crafted. Thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable. Look after your real friends, people! ;o)

beautifully written and very well read, but too bleak and at times too slow for me. I found myself becoming quite discomfited by the whole experience. I have enjoyed Margaret Atwood previously and found her very thought provoking - but this one did not do it for me.

beautifully read and a truly wonderful work. Many "Aha!" moments and much common sense. I like how Mark Rashid thinks and I think all of our horses could benefit if we all pondered Nature and their world from time to time, rather than just assuming ours is the only way. Loved listening and learning. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed this one, probably due to Wil Wheaton just as much as the story. It's all a bit tongue-in-cheek but kept me entertained. The only down side was that the recording jumped around a bit a few times, which was distracting. Didn't love it, but would certainly listen again.
