There’s a lot here. You may disagree with much of what he says, but listening to Scruton will always result in pondering these questions for yourself. It’s just like savouring a nice wine.

A very interesting look into the life of the inventor of Nike, his perseverance in business and calling, and encounters with Japanese business shenanigans.

Theological and anecdotal, this is one of the best books I’ve read/listened to on the topic from a biblical perspective.

Great listen. The book shed a lot of light on Edwards’ life: his context, his works, his strengths and weaknesses. Highly recommended.

Jonah is a book easily glossed over. Yet Pastor Tim Keller helps us to slow down to absorb what God wants to tell us in the story of the renegade prophet. The last few chapters on race and politics were worth the price alone.

Poetic and nuanced, this is a great read that taps into our strongest feelings of nostalgia. It was very relevant for myself, and framed some arguments for more traditional values, in the face of secularists, in fresh and interesting ways.

Challenging and captivating, this biography of Eric Liddell rounded out my little understanding of his life. A godly man who lived out his convictions on the track and as a missionary, I have been inspired especially to pray for my enemies - as Liddell had every reason to hate his during his internment by the Japanese during WWII. The ‘second half’ of his life is arguably the more interesting, especially how he managed to be so sacrificial to those suffering in internment camps, although the Olympic period contains fascinating insight into the athletic philosophies of the time. I highly recommend this audiobook.
