Brilliant second book and my daughter and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Love the narration and all of the instantly recognisable characters she expertly voices for.

Third book in the series and my 9 year old daughter and I cannot get enough of this series. Lyra’s adventures are wonderfully constructed and leave the listener wanting more.
I am so pleased a new book has been recently released, as this series is going to be hard to compare and compete with.

We listened to this book for the Premiers Reading Challenge in Australia, and it was magnificent. My daughter and I will now listen to all of the series as we’re completely hooked.

Roald Dahl’s 2nd book about his young adult life during the war. This is a continuation from Boy, which is based upon his childhood. I highly recommend this book for children aged 9 up, to enable them to learn a little about life in the war. Roald had an amazing life!

What made the experience of listening to A Boy Called Christmas the most enjoyable?

My daughter and I loved this book. We had listened to the 2nd book The Girl Who Saved Christmas first, without realising they came in order. It didn't spoil this book for us though as they are truly wonderful books.
Stephen Fry is the perfect Narrator for this book.

What other book might you compare A Boy Called Christmas to, and why?

I can't think of a book to compare to, but I can compare authors. In my opinion I would say Neil Gaiman and Matt Haig have similar quality to their writing which so many children's books do not have.

Have you listened to any of Stephen Fry’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Yes, and he's amazing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Nicholas saw a side to his papa he never believed to be possible.

Any additional comments?

MANY MORE please!

Truly wonderful

Ann Hathaway is a delightful narrator.

What about Anne Hathaway’s performance did you like?

Loved it!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Probably could have but we didn't get the opportunity to. Would listen to it again though.

I had previously read this book and loved it. I downloaded it for my daughter and I to listen to together on our car journeys. My daughter who is an avid reader and audiobook fan , says this is her favourite audiobook so far.
The narration is awesome, and Gaiman perfectly depicts every scene and character perfectly.

I recommend this book to all counsellors, therapists , and psychiatrists; especially students.
This is a book I will revisit many times, as the messages are profound and need to be listened to more than once or twice.
I have a newly merging view about death, and this is due to Irvin Yalom's insightful existential therapy. His opinions which he has gained from , and through his experiences and friendships over many decades is intriguing to say the least.
