Less soap box and manifesto and the worthwhile points would have been taken more seriously.

struggled with this book as it was so focused on battles. loved the overall story just all the focus on battles was not to my taste. the universe, the political situation etc are great story lines so managed to stick with it and finish.

not the best of John Green's novels though still worth the listen. moments of great insight. as a grandmother I do really appreciate the authors insight into the young. having to come to terms with the third generation of young adults all insights are appreciated. thank you older brother Green.

I've loved this series from the first, but, was not so enamoured with this particular novel. it is easy to read, or listen to, so still quite good as an escapist fiction. though not matching what I expect from Donna Leon. it may just be that it doesn't match my taste as perfectly as others in the series. though we expect a lot of introspection in these books this was more a continuous wallow and only occasionally catching a breath of others. even Venice fails to co-star in the major role it usually plays. all that whining done still wirth the read. for a few hours in this era of social isolation I was content.

I did enjoy this series but it got weighed down in too many story lines/plots for me to follow with real interest. This last book is the worst offender and took me quite sometime to get through. The narration was good and the earlier books in the series managed to sustain my efforts and finish listening to the entire book with just a few short skips.

I was a little disappointed as it was not as exceptional as the previous 'Hard Luck Hank' novels. Still better than most science fantasy whimsical fiction. Listened to the entire book overnight and snapped at friends and family the next day. Certainly worth listening to/reading and I am hoping for many more. Steven Campbell thank you again!
