I am making my way through John Steinbeck novels and not one of them dissapoint. JS is the master storyteller, capturing the personal and the social with often uncomfortable clarity. You very soon understand why this is a classic.

There were times when reading this was wonderous and others times disturbing. The author is quite unique and somewhat an acquired tast. The best part was the raw examination of human nature and why it is wondrous and disturbing... because that is life.

What a treat. Read this!!!

A John Steinbeck novel cannot disappoint but it's raised to a new level with this great narration.

Could not finish

I tried to get through this. It is well written but when the author drew comparisons between Drew Barrymore's self destructive behaviour and Harvey Weinstein's assualts on women, I was done.

Not bad, but I really wanted to love it

I'm not really sure what I expected. I enjoyed the stories... no buts. I just thought Louis would be more likeable.

Peter Carey's construction of the Ned Kelly story is sublime. The narration is near perfection. This is a perspective of Australian history that both disturbs and delights. Read it!!

The story is intriguing and so perfectly structured. By far the best narration of any Audible book I've listened to. I wish all books were this good.

A good story if you like your characters flawed, like I do. The ending was close to predictable but not enough to spoil it. The narration was mostly good with the exception of the whiny child. This made me cringe every time. Should please anyone who likes psychological thrillers with everyday people.

I listened to this book often with a smile on my face. The character of Don Tillman is wonderful and his thoughts alone are hilarious. Okay, its predictable but if you're looking for a break from the intense stuff this is a literary holiday worth taking.

A truly honest memoir

Confronting at times but so wonderfully honest. If you can't relate to any of Rosie's story you are lying to yourself. More please.
