Ayn Rand’s dystopic science fiction novella takes place at some unspecified future date. Mankind has entered another dark age as a result of what Rand saw as the weaknesses of socialistic thinking and economics. Technological advancement is now carefully planned -- when it is allowed to occur at all -- and the concept of individuality has been eliminated.

I felt moved at the conclusion of this book with the story of his grandmother's kindness. A very easy to understand, engaging and helpful book, and I loved the real life stories from Marshall and his experiences with others. This will be life changing for me as I go back into the world using non-violent communication, after having removed myself from it due to high stress situations that I see now that I was contributing to. Amazing wisdom.

P.E.T is a must read for all parents who are determined to have healthy lifelong relationships with their children. By reading it, I have identified potentially damaging behaviour in my actions and then learned new strategies to improve communication with my children. A great, easy read, clear and sobering.
