It wouldn't be a title I would normally download but I saw the book referenced in an emergency medical presentation and thought I wonder what that is all about? I am so glad I downloaded and listened to Chris's book it's brilliant. Not only did it teach me a bit about space exploration it also taught me about life and learning to look more deeply into the way I look at my achievements. It's a story that has many layers and it's only after pondering those layers did I find myself agreeing and smiling. It's worth the time it takes to listen..space fan or not!

I love mystery novels but I don't think I would choose to pick up the Definitive Collection of Sherlock Holmes to physically read. That being said I decided to download this book as one of my first audible purchases as I was planning a long drive. I listened to the preview and decided to click purchase! I am so glad I did. Stephen Fry is the most amazing narrator of the stories. He has an uncanny knack of transporting you to the scene, something that only usually happens for me if I am reading, and giving you the most detailed description. His narrative voice is easy to listen to and very engaging. For me, it was like listening to grown-up bedtime stories. I didn't want each mystery to end. I listened during a 9-hour drive from Adelaide to Melbourne and then I listened all the way home again! I still have many many more hours to go and it's the type of storyline that you can pick up and put down as such over and over again. I can't recommend the books enough for anyone wanting to rekindle their Sherlock Holmes love affair :-)

The title says it all!

I think you may only read this title if you have come to find that you were parented by a narcissistic mother. The content is engaging and thought-provoking. The narrator is easy to listen to. The author is a highly qualified professional writing out her personal experience and I found this very comforting. You need the first-hand experience of narcissism to really understand what it does to you. Like a tangled web that gets stronger and stronger and changes your perception of the world and your own true self narcissism is insidious and I feel much more work needs to be done. I thought I could binge this book and it would help me in one fell swoop but I couldn't and had to pace listening to it as it brought up so many feelings and memories that I had to sit with before moving on. There are several sections with the final section being recovery. I am yet to get to the beginning of recovery as I need to fully deal with all the feelings that have surfaced as if from a long-closed vault. It isn't easy, it's not hard but I think you need to be dedicated working through this book. It may take months or years but I know I will get to the end and be better for reading it.

A friend recommended I read The Untethered Soul after finding it extremely helpful. I must say I found the content both engaging and challenging. I do feel that you need to be in the "right place" in your life to be able to absorb the content. If you are in denial about the pace of your life, your self-care routine or even need for self-care and if you are busy then you may feel this book is not for you. Believe me, this book is perfect for you! I found it very easy to listen to and relatable. There were parts on religion that I didn't relate to but all in all, I found it a useful book and one I have returned to and listened to specific chapters over again. Each time I find I learn more.
