If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I have listened to other books by K F Breene and enjoyed them immensely. This one, not so much. I kept waiting for it to get better. It didn’t.

How could the performance have been better?

I strongly think that the narrator was a large part of the problem. She did inflections and voices, but it just didn’t flow and seemed halting.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was very disappointed in this book.

Any additional comments?

I will definitely try another book by K F Breene.

Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. She's even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy. And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed.

I simply couldn't get into this book. It was sooo slow. I tried and wanted to like it, but the main character was not inspiring. I'm not even sure that I will watch the movie.
I have rated the performance as 2 but really, it was the story line that was problematic for me.

Six years have passed since Jake Sanders watched Natalie, the love of his life, marry another man. Six years of hiding a broken heart by throwing himself into his career as a college professor. Six years of keeping his promise to leave Natalie alone, and six years of tortured dreams of her life with her new husband, Todd. But six years haven't come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd's obituary, he can't keep himself away from the funeral.

Would you listen to Six Years again? Why?

No. There are so many books on my wish list that I don't listen to the same book twice.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Six Years?

The whole book. It all comes together and there are definately some 'ah ha' moments. It flows very well without giving the secrets away.

Have you listened to any of Kerry Shale’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is my first Kerry Shale book. It wont be my last. He was very good at keeping the flow and not mixing up his characters. And he had some good voices :-)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I wanted to savour it.

Any additional comments?

I picked this book after reading Fool Me Once by the same author. I see Harlan Coben has many more books that I am hoping to get to.

This book started out well and then dragged 2/3 of the way through. I felt the ending was then rushed. This wasn't the sort of book that you couldn't put down; but it was enjoyable.
I really enjoyed the narrator too.
