I have just finished this book and started listening to it over again straight away. The author is the narrator and she is awesome. So funny yet the topic is life changing. On a personal and business level I have already adopted such positive changes learned from listening to this book. Highly, highly recommended!

I found this book difficult to get in to. By the end I was engaging with the characters, but it took a while as the main characters weren't strong enough to hold my interest. The story line was just OK.

I loved the fantasy and mystery in this book. In places was very gruesome but also in places very beautiful. Moving between different times to connect the characters. Very clever and the ending leaves you thinking.

Enjoyable but slow in places

By the end of this book, I was really enjoying the characters and the way their fathers life and death affected them all. The start was slightly tedious although I realise now, that in order for the characters to have growth, they needed to be a bit annoying to begin with.
Definitely worth a listen.

Unable to finish. I found the narration annoying and the story too hard to get in to. If I had persevered I may have been surprised, but not my cup of tea.

An easy and enjoyable listen. Funny and light. Not a major thinker, but I was happy to listen to how the story ends.

I found it quite difficult to stay focused. The characters are many and confusing, at times, knowing who is who. I did like the way Serena and Pemberton were portrayed.
Listened to the end, but could have easily not have finished.

This book shows that nothing has changed in human nature despite wars, depression and financial crashes. I loved the possibility of freedom that is shown in Larry's character and the realistic way the other characters have been portrayed, relevant even in today's society.
I found myself pondering life in all sorts of ways, and couldn't wait to get back to it if I had to turn it off.
