Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

I enjoyed The Hunter more as it introduced and developed "victor".
This had a good story line with sub plots as well , but again the Narration stands out for me as the star ..
Enjoyable,.. could leave at different stages but sometimes sat in the car listening instead of heading into the office to work due to excitement of pace in the action parts .

Will pop back to Harry Bosch series now and come back again at a later date for the third in this series (just to keep it fresh)

Forget James Bond. Forget Jason Bourne. Forget Jack Bauer. Meet Victor. He's an assassin - a man with no past and no surname. But when a Paris job goes spectacularly wrong, Victor finds himself running for his life across four continents, accompanied by a woman too beautiful to trust, pursued by enemies too powerful to escape.

I gave been enjoying David Baldacci and Vince Flynn novels.
Protagonist is a good guy.. You want him to win.
This has the main character as an assassin out for No 1..
So my thoughts were of Day of the Jackal .. (didn't like the assassin in the movie.) and a little reluctance .
However reasonable quickly found it an enjoyable and fast paced action book
Just ordered the next one in the series .
Great narrator. Good variation of pace during action/suspense parts ..
Accents not overdone but distinguish well the different character .
(helps that there are various nationalities in play) ..

Camp Bastion: SAS trooper Tom Buckingham finds himself in deep trouble for taking down a renegade Afghan soldier. Instead of being proclaimed a hero, he's made a scapegoat for the incident and drummed out of the regiment. On his return to Britain, disillusioned and embittered, Tom's unique services are quickly snapped up by charismatic entrepreneur Vernon Rolt, a powerful billionaire with political ambitions, very few scruples, and a questionable agenda.

I have enjoyed plenty of Andy McNabbs books but not tried an Audible before.
May have been the story.. very slow start...a bit better two thirds on. But definitely struggled with the narrators accents also..
Just enjoyed The Hunter by Tom Wood...A world of difference. thank goodness..Possibly made better by suffering thru this one.
