A classic well chosen selection of stories, that put you in the front seat of these all too real accounts of some of the most enduring moments humans have been placed in... each story could easily be a movie in its own right...

I like what the author did with this book, materialising personal experience and second hand stories told to him to create this fictional Vietnam. I really wish that it was real, it would have carried more weight to it for me. I had to double check that it was a fiction book a few times. An entertaining read, with many philosophical questions and lessons for the reader. Some tales were funny other sad, etc. At times I could not follow where they were, if in Vietnam, US or Laos... but I kept reading... It depicts some of humanities tougher choices...

It was really good to see the Merry band of pirates kicking ass and jumping across the galaxy again, catching up with old friends and going MAD on the rotten kitties

Nicely read, lots of action and a misguided Skippy at the end... hasn't he learned anything... Cliffhanger for sure, at least I only have to wait 19 days for the release of the next book Critical Mass, already on pre-order

This is a story about a magical family. A saga that spans generations with snippets of their lives that will make you feel that you are not too different from them some 300 years ago...

The beginning of the book was very hard reading, I saw little cohesion and the storyline was all over the place. Not to mention slow. Full of names I didn't recognize. Until the usual hero ditched the facade, then it hot interesting and the book payed off
