I have The Ruin in paperback to read, so I jumped at the chance to listen to this prequel. It was a good story, although I worked out the bad guy 2/3 of the way through, but not how, where or why. The narrating was good. I am looking forward to the series.

This is a story of two families who are forever bound together by a very big secret.
Through the ups and downs of all characters this story ebbs and flows wuth tears and laughter... a great story and excellent narration

I did love this book., the telling was wonderful once I got a handle on the switch between past and present.
The subject matter was alluring and disturbing and I laughed and cried and felt slightly sick sometimes too.
This book surprised and delighted me.

This was an interesting novel. There were many twists in this tale and many secrets between family. The narration was good, however the way the book was structured, it may have been easier to follow if I was actually reading the book. The story was told from several different perspectives and listening to the audio it was sometimes difficult to figure out who was "speaking" ar the time.

This is a lovely quirky love story. The narrator was excellent, bringing emotion and humour though the many characters.
a varied story but ultimately about young love and of what family means...

Great choice of narrator. Humorous in parts, a bit dreary in others. Glad a chose to listen to it rather than read the book.
