I don't remember what made me buy this book but I loved everything about it. The story itself was wonderful and the reader or listener can not but love the characters of Rachel. The narration was superb and from my experience a narrator can make or break a story no matter how good. Gerri Halligan gave the characters so much life that when the story ended I felt an emptiness knowing I would never meet Rachel again. Not normally my type of author or story book, but I immediately purchased another hoping for the same experience.

I really struggled to finish this depressing story about two selfish unlikable individuals. I really wish I had given up at the halfway point because what I really disliked most about the whole story was how it ended.

A truly wonderful story that is a paradox, because It is both heartbreaking and full of joy. A story that will tug at your heart strings but also make you laugh. This is a story that will stay with me and I will revisit many times.

This is one of the best books I have ever listened to. The story is original. It is funny and sad but ultimately uplifting. I feel so lucky that I accidentally stumbled across this and this book which will stay with me for years to come. Maybe it will become more relevant with the passing of the decades and helping me navigate old age.

This was a spur of the moment purchase to listen to on a road trip. I found the subject content fascinating and the really enjoyed the narration. I am not a trader and never have been, but do believe much of what is being discussed can be related to most aspects of life.

The narration was the highlight of this book and I will definitely look for more narrated by Dalya Raphel. The story however, was all over the place with the author skipping forward and backwards through the years. It was much more about the Nazi party and Adolf Hitler in particular. I thought the main topic book lacking and so was filled by merely rehashing what we already know but with some inclusion of the women. Sadly I gave up at the halfway mark.

I was captivated by this well written and brilliantly narrated book. This was not a dry account of a pivotal time in world history, but told in such a manner that the reader was almost there living the horror with these brave men.

There is nothing incredible about this story. The author come across as self absorbed and superficial. Her life is about using people and this book is just another vehicle to tell people how brave and wonderful she is. I know she has a huge following but so do lots of social media 'stars' of today. I just didn't buy into her story and didn't believe it either, Hopefully I can return this book.

I am not a creative writer, in fact I am not creative at all. But after listening to this wonderful series I went out and bought a note book. I filled a fountain pen with pretty ink and started to write. Just like art or music, Ross tells us and shows us we can just write for our self.

I really loved the narration and the story was sickly sweet. Sickly sweet in a good way like eating too many Creme Eggs at Easter. Combine both and you have the perfect story to listen to just before bed.
