By the end of this one I was fully back in. A lot of this entry into the series focus on developing the characters rather than ticking the story forward but the last few chapters and the ending provided enough of a twist that I’m fully invested. Quickly becoming one of my favorite series.

Brilliant crime thriller set in the streets of London with a splash of fantasy thrown in for good measure. Holdbrook-Smith takes the already quality source material to a new level with a brilliant performance.

Though I was pretty miffed to find that a lot of this book focuses on the forces that remained on paradise, by the end I understand why Alanson had to go down that path. Yes there is a lot less of the banter between joe, skippy and the pirates but the story of the Mavericks wasn't bad to listen to and I think will play a big part in the series going forward. RC Bray delivered a great performance as always

Brilliant entry. A bit of a change but still a great listen. Can't wait to get through the next one in the series.

Great spin on a often told story. The magic in the world made for a really interesting read. Will defiantly be picking up the next one.

Largely a paint by numbers story about an AI being misunderstood. Was interesting at the start but became painfully predictable. Wasn't with out its good moments but it really felt like it was just going through the motions. The 'voice of reason' character really just felt like they were there to make up the numbers.

Dawe's performance was solid.

Once again R C Bray delivers a performance which outshines the writing. I really hope this isn't the last in the series. I'd happily join the merry band of pirates, Joe and Skippy for another round.
