Story
In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they've lost one another. The boy's cries are growing more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale, as only Stephen King and Joe Hill can deliver.

Chilling, as expected

Typical Stephen King and Joe Hill chills! An intriguing concept, pulled off wonderfully. I had a small problem with the narrator, Stephen Lang, as he would often swallow the ends of sentences (particularly if the last word was “it”’ for some reason), which was slightly distracting - but luckily only slightly. All in all, great little listen for lovers of horror looking for a scrumptious snack rather than a meal.

Story
Forced by necessity into a life of piracy, Senlin and his eclectic crew struggle to survive aboard their stolen airship as the hunt for his lost wife continues. But the Tower of Babel is proving to be as difficult to re-enter as it was to escape.
Hopeless and desolate, they turn to a legend of the tower, the mysterious Sphinx. But help from the sphinx doesn't come cheaply and, as Senlin knows, debts aren't always what they seem in the Tower of Babel.

A towering sequel

One of those sequels that take all the good aspects of the first part of the story and build upon it in extraordinary fashion. A rollicking adventure with characters you grow to love. Can’t wait for volume three!

Story
Mild-mannered headmaster, Thomas Senlin prefers his adventures to be safely contained within the pages of a book. So when he loses his new bride shortly after embarking on the honeymoon of their dreams, he is ill-prepared for the trouble that follows. To find her, Senlin must enter the Tower of Babel - a world of geniuses and tyrants, of menace and wonder, of unusual animals and mysterious machines. And if he hopes to ever see his wife again, he will have to do more than just survive...this quiet man of letters must become a man of action.

A cracking plot with a host of stunningly realised characters. John Banks’ performance cannot be faulted, and I look forward to diving straight into the next book in the series.
