Learning from somebody I know and trust - and who's lived through constant doubt and struggle with her inner critic (F off Frank!)... this is so real and incredibly useful. Thank you CB x

Your Own Kind of Girl
- A Memoir
- By: Clare Bowditch
- Narrated by: Clare Bowditch
- Length: 11 hrs and 28 mins
Clare Bowditch has always had a knack for telling stories. Through her music and performing, this beloved Australian artist has touched hundreds of thousands of lives. But what of the stories she used to tell herself? That 'real life' begins only once you're thin or beautiful, that good things happen only to other people. Your Own Kind of Girl reveals a childhood punctuated by grief, anxiety and compulsion and tells how these forces shaped Clare's life for better and for worse. This is a heartbreaking, wise and at times playful memoir.

Audio book of the year!
An amazing life gives birth to an amazing book. A wonderful read, enhanced by an audio book edition packed with a treasure trove of delightful aural bonuses.
As if hearing Clare herself reading her entire story wasn’t enough, her gorgeous Mum Maria makes a beautiful appearance and then there’s the privilege of hearing sound bites from vintage cassette recordings of a very young Clare Bowditch. Topped with songs that illuminate each chapter, it’s a glorious listening experience, a story deep with emotion and heartbreak, highlighted with laughs and success.
My pleasure has been well and truely had.
