As a POC I always find white men telling me that all I need to do is change my perspective on life funny. Obviously a man who doesn't understand structural and institutional racism.

I also thought that his basic idea about taking responsibility for the way you feel, react and deal with a situation very similar to 'The Secret'. Not really new at all.

It was an easy listen though and still worth listening to so I can stop paying attention to people who try to give me advice based off their learning from the book.

The person reading, especially the changes in voice to represent particular characters, was also a bit grating.

Must read

Such an important book on race and colonial politics. A must read for anyone who wants to learn about history and the concept of structural racism.

Robert was great to listen too!

Great delivery by the narrator. If you know the characters it is a great warming listen

I loved it, a great overview of the research and literature investigating depression and anxiety. As someone who has suffered from multiple mental health issues over time this was refreshing to hear. Highly recommend.
