Story
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is based on the true story of Lale and Gita Sokolov, two Slovakian Jews who survived Auschwitz and eventually made their home in Australia. In that terrible place, Lale was given the job of tattooing the prisoners marked for survival - literally scratching numbers into his fellow victims' arms in indelible ink to create what would become one of the most potent symbols of the Holocaust.

Story
Bill Bryson was struck one day by the thought that we devote more time to studying the battles and wars of history than to considering what history really consists of: centuries of people quietly going about their daily business. This inspired him to start a journey around his own house, an old rectory in Norfolk, considering how the ordinary things in life came to be.

Story
For 13 years, 22 series and 175 shows, Richard Porter was script editor of Top Gear, from the first faltering pilot episode in 2002 until the very last show presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May in 2015. Along the way they destroyed cars, sparked diplomatic incidents, set fire to caravans, almost killed one of the presenters, and somehow transformed Top Gear from a shabby BBC Two motoring show into an Emmy-winning, record-breaking, planet-straddling behemoth.

Some say.......that this is actually a long lost Shakespeare comedy and that the narrator is actually Kristin Scott Thomas putting on her deep voice. All we know is......this is a bloody good book!
As befits the show, great writing, about a subject we all love, read with style and humour. Get it....now...and start listening with a grin on your face.

Story
The Big Miss is Hank Haney's candid and surprisingly insightful account of his tumultuous six-year journey with Tiger Woods, during which the supremely gifted golfer collected six major championships and rewrote golf history. Hank was one of the very few people allowed behind the curtain. He was with Tiger 110 days a year, spoke to him over 200 days a year, and stayed at his home up to 30 days a year, observing him in nearly every circumstance....

A fantastic insight
Reviewed: 10-04-2016
A fantastic insight into golf's biggest star and a reminder that all you see may not be golden.
The detail on how to hit a golf ball, if you're Tiger Woods, is perfectly balanced with the tension and drama of the world that surrounds up him. You are left marvelling at the work required for perfection and the toll it, and the world of top level modern sport, can take on teacher and 'student'. Highly recommended for anyone that has pumped a fist in time with Tiger sinking a putt.
