I hadn't heard of this book until it popped up as a daily deal, and I'm so glad it did. A raw and moving tale of a family and their relationships with each other and the natural world around them. The characters are flawed and beautiful and real.
I was pleasantly surprised to recognise Tamala Shelton's voice narrating this. This is the third book I've listened to her reading and I've enjoyed them all so much. She gives a lot of respect to the stories she reads and brings them to life.

I can see that people could struggle with this book but I loved it. At first it just seems like a jumble of thoughts, and it is, but as it goes on more of a narrative emerges. I really loved the perspective this is told from.
Great narration too, perfect for this book.

I've never anticipated a book as eagerly as this and I was not disappointed. Atwood's work doesn't always hit the mark for me and I worried I wouldn't love this, but it's amazing.
It could have done without the last chapter, but it was a reflection if the end if The Handmaid's Tale, so I understand why it was there.

The narration makes this wonderful story even better. It is a perfect match. Gorgeous lyrical writing.

It read like a teenage boy had written large parts. I don't know any women who think about their own breasts half as much as the female characters in 1Q84. My eyes were nearly rolling out of my head by the end.

I loved it! Despite its length, I want to start at the beginning again immediately.
