This is the only money guide you'll ever need. That's a bold claim, given there are already thousands of finance books on the shelves. So what makes this one different? You'll get a step-by-step formula: open this account, then do this; call this person, and say this; invest money here and not there. All with a glass of wine in your hand.

I almost stopped after hearing all the unfimiliar bank names but luckly I did not. once again when the book started talking about the country's national pension plan because my country does not have that. I am glad I kept listning as most of these things can be translated to my environment.

Yet he spends his life willingly, knowing that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better world for his children. But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet.

From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

Would you listen to Fear the Sky again? Why?

Not really...I never read books twice but I will will recommend this book to all I know.

What did you like best about this story?

The writers knowledge of stellar mechanics and military units and how they are used and the logical and realistic sequence of events.

What about R.C. Bray’s performance did you like?

He has a deep voice that took a bit of getting used to but his performance was superb.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely...even listened during working hours which meant slowing my work considerably but just could not stop listening and I will start listening to the second book right now after this one :-)

Any additional comments?

Glad the books are released so close to each other...just finished this one and book 2 and 3 is already available. Before reading this book I was a bit skeptical because of some of the negative reviews but am glad a took the chance on this book.

Neal Stephenson is a blazing new force on the sci-fi scene. With the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, he has "vaulted onto the literary stage." It weaves virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility - in short, it is the gigathriller of the information age.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I think the plot is good but the way the story is written sucks...Its like the writer gets confused with his own characters of who said what. Also it is like watching a 3 or 4 man show...there is a lot of other people on the ship but its like they don't exist.

What could Alastair Reynolds have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

There is out branches of the story that just never get mentioned again. There is huge jumps in time and no real explanation of what happen in between like...one person is the leader and after the jump in time someone else is the leader with almost no explanation of how or why. To me this book felt like a first try...maybe his future books will have better pacing and better writing.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Pushing Ice?

Cut nothing and add more like painting the picture better...filling out secondary characters...don't copy paste characters and just change few things.

Any additional comments?

Wait for this writer to become more experienced in writing...he has a good story in his head but fails to put it to paper.
