Story
Kids can be so cruel. They'll call you names. Hurt your feelings. Push you to your death. In the garden of an abandoned house, Luke Connolly lies broken, dead. The night before, he and his friends partied inside. Nobody fought, everybody else went home safely. And yet, Luke was raped and pushed to his death. His alleged attacker is now in custody. DCI Tom Reynolds is receiving the biggest promotion of his career when a colleague asks him to look at the Connolly case, believing it's not as cut and dried as local investigators have made out.

Story
From Australia's master storyteller comes an endearing and engaging novella about a journey as unexpected, painful, intriguing and character-filled as life itself. A cruise was the promise. To cruise away from their troubles. To cruise towards the place where they first met, on the banks of the Thames. A cruise to dwell in their memories together and plan their next chapter. Paddy and Jenny Davern have had a long and happy marriage together in Sydney. Together they embark on a cruise to London, for the last leisurely journey in each other's company.

How will this end??

Book was written well and one keeps on wondering if they will actually go through with it. The story is being told by Paddy and his wife and this makes an interesting way of presenting different opinions and views of the world. The ending is worth it...can’t say anything more as one has to experience it!

Some good tips and thinking

The book is a great story on her life. It also holds some good tips even if you do not live in Canada or USA. What I liked about the book is how it made me think, review and challenge the current status quo or assumed ‘path of life’. The chapter on how to manage when you have kids should be less opinionated though. It assumes world educators to the best option for all kids and the chapter focussed more on debusting the assumed cost to raise a child rather than providing more of the previous chapters tips and food for thought. Overall a good book and one that makes us challenge our status quo. It will be interesting to know how the author would write this book in the current covid world since a large part of their life is based on travel to reduce living expenses...
