The ending was so predictable that I actually hoped I was wrong. But I wasn’t. The whole story was ruined by the last chapters- the ending is gift wrapped with a big bow.

I laughed. I cried. I absolutely enjoyed this wonderful story. Jason Chong’s narration is sublime.

Great story and fabulous narration. So many books are spoilt by substandard narration but this isn’t one of them.

Great story, great characters and fabulous narration by Humphrey Bower. Excellent depiction of the Australia during the late ‘60s.

Most of the book is tedious science stuff, and eventually I could stand no more and skipped to the end. Will wheaton’s narration is the best thing about the book.

Another wonderful book by Ms Moriarty. She never disappoints. Great narration by Ms Lee. Will definitely listen to this one again (and again1).

A great listen! Plot and characters were believable, and there were a lot of laughs along the way. Money well spent.

Don’t waste your time or money on this one. The sub plot of women being passed over professionally for inept male colleagues is gratuitous and under developed (I am a woman and I found this a little insulting). The ending is just unbelievable- almost laughable.

The story is slow and boring. The Narrator is obviously elderly so makes all the characters sound old - an old PI, an old DCI etc. I am in my 60s so not an ageist, but a really old cast of characters is too ridiculous for words. With all due respect to the Narrator, the story might have been lifted by an age-appropriate voice. My money was badly spent.

The storyline is difficult to swallow, but it is a reasonable listen. The big problem is the casting of the narrator- the story’s protagonist is 43 years old, the narrator sounds more in his mid 70s than early 40s. This makes the whole cast of characters sound like elderly Inhabitants of a retirement home masquerading as FBI agents and police officers. There is also the random use of terrible “mood music” which is off putting to say the least. I recommend reading this book, not listening to it.
