$10 is pretty expensive for a book that lasts 1 hour. Was able to get a decent summary of the wars though. The reader was a bit dreary as well, considering how exciting the story could have been.

The performance was very good, and avoided what could have otherwise been a 'documentaryesque' tone. The story was not too bad, but I feel that it lacked consistent thrills and tense moments. I was really impressed with the knowledge of the animals and geography that the author had considering the year it was written and was even more impressed with the imagination of the submarine! Unfortunately the few conflicts in the novel were not sustained and there was no real sense of thrills even when the infamous poulp attacked. Maybe because I just finished 1984: which in my opinion was brilliant. Give it a go anyway...you might disagree with me :)

Such a dark story, coupled with excellent ration really engrossed me and I found it actually depressing me. It really makes you think about things and how society has changed and is continuing to change. The narration was excellent and the deep, sort of grim voice of the narrator was perfect for setting the scene of a dark and grotty location. Happy to have listened, and would recommend to anyone...
