A truth

I enjoy the stories of "good versus evil" as in Gemmell, but beyond these tales are those few who hold to principles based in reality born of experience and learning to understand others. Meet Drizzt, an example for children and a measure few adults dare to strive for.

Story
The peaceful Eldarin were the last of three ancient races. The mystical Oltor, healers and poets, had fallen before the dread power of the cruel and sadistic Daroth. Yet in one awesome night, the invincible Daroth had vanished from the face of the earth. Gone were their cities, their armies, their terror. The Great Northern Desert was their only legacy. Not a trace remained for a thousand years....

great book but horrible naration
Reviewed: 24-05-2018
Todiwala narrated this like a man who was reading a financial report . He did well with actual characters dialog but read the background as if He did not seem to know what punctuation is. I almost gave up after 2nd chapter. Did well with character conversation and thoughts only. The book itself, story and characters deserved better!

I have been a David Gemmell fan since I read Legend as a first run hardcover. I lost the ability to read in 1994 after brain surjury and tried audio books for 25 years, then I was given Knights of Dark Reknown on Audio disc. 4 books later a a friend found Audible for me & I lost myself in the Drenai. The first time I tried to listen to David Gemmell Sword in the Storm I quit because how could a woman do justice to a Gemmell story - I ask forgiveness for my prejudice, I WAS WRONG. This needed an excellent Narrator & Adjoa is, Siebenesc. Thank you.
