Stephen Leeds is schizophrenic (...probably...) and he's in demand. But not for his own skills - his clients want to tap in to the imaginary experts that populate his mind - and it's getting a bit crowded in there. One of his many 'aspects' is a trained soldier, another a psychological expert; a third is a librarian, and all of them want to help him solve problems, making him an exceptionally versatile intelligence agent. If you need a stolen corpse retrieved or a missing inventor found, Stephen Leeds is the man - or, rather, the team - for the job.

From the best-selling author who completed Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time series comes a new original creation that matches anything else in modern fantasy for epic scope, thrilling imagination, superb characters and sheer addictiveness. Return to a planet swept by apocalyptic storms, a world tipping into war as aristocratic families move to control the shard blades and shard plates, ancient artefacts from a past civilisation that can win wars.

Probably the worst of all Brandon’s books. If I’d read this book first I wouldn’t have continued with the series. The storyline failed to hold my attention on numerous occasions and from around chapter 105 the reading really was miserable, Dalinars self pity, the constant focus on no hope was depressing and the subsequent overcoming of all this didn’t leave one completely satisfied. However, as everything else I have read by Brandon was excellent I will continue with the series.

Can’t believe how bad this book is compared to the previous 7. It was tedious. It couldn’t hold my attention for more than a couple minutes. I can’t say what it was about because essentially nothing happened. Wow, what went wrong?
