I’d say this is a good book for other hikers. The voice was pretty weird but I got used to it.

This book was nothing of what I thought it would be and am so glad I listened to it. What an incredible story and performance. The way it was read would have to be the best I’ve heard I could hear the main character so well. I also loved the way it was written. Loved it. Just don’t try to eat while listening

I have listened to every hiking book I can get my hands on and this is my favourite. Most long hike books end up turning into a bit of a sleep-hike-eat repeat. Not this one. This book is so entertaining you feel like you are on the trail with him and the various hiking people he meets. I also loved the fast pace of the narration. At first it was a little odd. But then it really grew on me as it retold funny dialogue between the people. I felt like I was really there. Great work. Thanks I really enjoyed this book.

A good hiking book.

This is a book about hiking. I really enjoyed it. But I’m a hiker. I’d imagine it might not be as great for non hikers. But I really like the story and the way it was told. Unlike many other hiking books it managed to avoid the drudgery of hiking: sleep eat hike repeat.

I don’t often like war stories but this book was brilliant. The story needs to be heard to be believed. I love the history waved in in an interesting way. I also loved the writers ability to tell the story without over glorifying the actions of people. Ten out of ten for me. Thanks a lot

What disappointed you about Hiking Through?

I congratulate the author on his hike and personal journey. However, 5 months of sleeping eating and hiking honestly does get a little dull. I feel this book may only suit a unique group of hiking religious. I am a hiker but still found it very slow going. Then it takes a very strange turn when (spoiler alert) God speaks to him. I kept listening thinking there would be some valuable life lesson that I could learn but was disappointed. I thought the people he met could be explored a little more to add substance to the text. I also found it odd that he only interacted with male hikers and the only mention of a woman on the entire trail had no substance whatsoever other than being good looking and too useless to set up her own tent.

A must for everyone

Loved this book. It was funny, it was sad, it was challenging. But best of all it sparked discussion and thought with my friends and coworkers.
