Malcolm's story, delivery, voice, content, facts and production values made this my favourite audio book... ever!! Some other author/narrators should take a lead from Malcolm.

Why? Why? Why did the author decide to narrate his own book? Did it save him money? It reminds me of bored school children being forced to read aloud in class.

The narration totally ruins the experience of listening to the book which has good content.

In fact the narration is so bad, it makes me wonder if the author has ever read the book, let alone written it. When compared to other authors who speak with passion and commitment about their subject matter,

Chris seems to have no passion, no knowledge and not even a passing interest in engaging with HIS customer (Something he talks about in the book).

Be prepared to be bored witless while listening to this, I Like the subject matter enough to see if I can find a kindle edition of this because I'm not sure I can stomach another 4 1/2 hours of it.

Is he really off drugs?

listening to the first 45 minutes of this book is a chore in itself. I'm not sure if Russell Brand thinks he's Jesus Christ or Shakespeare or just some weird amalgamation of both, but the first 45 minutes was just plain painful bullshit. Sammy rhyming pros and the frequent f bomb is enough to send you round the twist.

I had absolutely no chance of getting through 7 hours of listening to Russell Brand trotting out this drivel.

unless you're a Russell Brand fan, or desperate I'd steer clear of this one

Overall the book is a really interesting book but there are some chapters on spiritualism and similar things that drone on like a boring grandmother giving you a lecture.

I was somewhat surprised how little time Ruby spent talking about the negative effects of alcohol consumption given that this evidence is probably one of the biggest reasons why some of us will give up alcohol.

The damning evidence about alcohol as a poison is almost the reverse of social proof, it's a really good reason to stop. To gloss over it and let the reader find their own evidence seemed a little lazy.

I was interested in the subject matter and listen to the book all the way to the end so I guess I'm on my way to a more sober future with rubies help.

Gave it up after he called a digital camera a DLSR

Not sure if the guy who was writing this book or the guy was narrating the book new anything about digital. the over-simplistic definition of the types of digital photography suggested that neither new anything about it. when the narrator call the digital camera a DLSR I tossed it in. can I still return a crap book?

Very well written by an empassioned author with a great narration voice and high level of credibility. I expect to be joining the 5% who action the steps outlined in the book so I too can say to my wife.. "I've got this!" Onto my second listen and actioning the advice. Even bought the print version to refer to. FIVE STARS!!!

I read some of this book when I was ten and didn't really understand it's meaning. To hear it in full from beginning to end as an audiobook 40 years later was amazing. An engrossing narration and a great story to help you reset your true north.

Highly recommended listening. I'm about to go through it again for a third listen... this time with a notebook.
