Story
Promised to the power-hungry god Mortdh, the young Annani is determined to find a way out of the prearranged political union that would one day put Mortdh on the throne. Even though Khiann is the son of a merchant and not a member of the leading circle, the handsome young god is a much more appealing choice. Now all she has to do is convince him that she is worth chancing an all-out civil war over succession and, possibly, his very life.

This is a great series and worth persevering through the first few books. Book 0.5 Goddess’s Choice - This is a prequel and introduces the young Goddess Annani, establishing the mythology back story for the series. Book 1 Dark Stranger: The Dream - Jumps forward in time to pave the way for the protagonist couple’s modern day romance. Book 2 Dark Stranger: Revealed - Continues to acquaint you with the many characters that tweak your interest so you look forward to their evolving stories in the books to come. Book 3 Dark Stranger: Immortal - I must admit that half way through I thought I was done with this series because the love story between Syssi and Kian felt too drawn out but the romantic saga finished strong enough, tempting me to go for one more. I am glad I persisted as I am currently listening to book ten and now that the overly drawn out introduction is over, I'm thoroughly enjoying the series. I’m not sure if I have adjusted to the writer’s style or maybe it is the change in direction I believe the writer took - but I am finding the descriptive style draws me in. The story continues to unfold with the right amount of romance, suspense and intrigue. The evolving, well developed characters have snagged my interest, enough to look forward to each and every Mortal and Immortal's story. I love a book that can make you feel like you’re watching a mini-series and you don't want to miss a single episode. I have fingers crossed that readers will eventually be privy to what happened to the characters that I. T. Lucas drew you to engage with in the prequel. At the completion of book two I would have given a 2-3 star rating but now I happily give this series 5 stars all round. I am earnestly invested in every single (new and old) character and will happily see this series through to the end.

Story
I don't take women to bed. I take them against the wall, hard and fast, and when I come I make sure they remember. They always do. I'm cocky as hell, I've got reason to be. I own Spades Royalle, the sexiest casino in Vegas. F - k, the sexiest casino in the country. I'm gonna keep building my empire all on my own - my ties with the mafia are in my past, buried with the bones of my family. I like my money clean and my women dirty. That is until I met Emmy Rose.

I really enjoyed the story line and characters but I was over all the sex scenes and skipped thru the last few chapters to just listen to the story.

Story
Vampyres don't exist. They absolutely do not exist. At least I didn't think they did 'til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead? Now I'm a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren't bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite, and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe.

Fun wit brings to life characters in a story with many unpredictable twists and turns. The dark side of this well told story is softened by humour creating a very enjoyable listen.

Enjoyable

At first look, I was uncertain if I would enjoy this series, so I started with this, the second book 'Tender Rebel' because the synopsis appealed to me the most. After finishing the listen I immediately headed to audible to download another book from the series, 'Gentle Rogue'.
I have to say that at one point Roslyn began to annoy me, simply because she believed the worse in Anthony with very little evidence to feed her distrust. Personally, I found this frustrating and a little unbelievable that she could be that dim-witted. It distracted me for a while but I've listened to far worse plots with far more annoying female protagonists so I got over it in the end and continued enjoying the story.
Having said that, this was any easy listen and held my interest with everything you look for in a fun, delightful romance story. With just over ten hours of listening, I felt it was worth the price.
I must say, it was very clever of the author to introduce the next novel's plot during this story. I think I may now be hooked on the Malory series.
