This was a thrilling read to listen to. One you would want to listen to over and over to again catch the intricate details given throughout the book. I thought it would be hard to follow the characters given the main protagonist has multiple hosts but storytelling was done in a very delicate and considerate manner. Anyone who loves crime thrillers will enjoy this book.

The narrator’s performance added the depth to the characters of the story. It was captivating to listen to Korede, the older sister’s narration and perception of encounters, moments and of course the murders. Told in a candid, light and matter-of-fact tone it feels like there so much more to read in between what the characters say and what they perceived to have happen. I couldn’t give it 5 stars ‘cause I cannot figure out the abrupt ending of the story. I only started figuring out the irony of which sister is really the serial killer and feel like I’m missing something. But all in all a refreshing story and perspective one that will keep you hooked ‘til the end.

I loved how James Patterson has masterfully drawn Alex Cross’ character throughout the series and he has become more heroic and yet more vulnerable in each. The Big Bad Wolf has been scarier than all the other storied in the series. The violence and shock makes me triple-check doors and locks at night. Reader Garrick Hagon did an amazing job bringing the creepy characters to life and was very entertaining.

Not realising this was Fiona Barton’s first book (after reading/ listening to her other book), I was captivated by the storytelling of The Widow. The characters were sketched vividly all throughout the story and it was very engaging to be taken from one character’s point of view to another in every chapter. While there was the strong male law enforcement character, Bob Sparks, who commanded admiration and respect, the strong, clear and clever female lead, Kate, was relatable and impressive.

I cannot believe it took me over a decade to start reading the Alex Cross series and it’s been a real journey. I have always enjoyed James Patterson’s writing and Kiss the Girls lives up to expectations. It makes you check and double-check your windows and doors at night. Ako Mitchell’s reading is flawless and helpful towards the storytelling.

I have been listening to the Women’s Murder Club series in succession and have started noticing that James P seem to have lost the thrill in the latter books. I have been annoyed with the unnecessary sound effects in the last 3 books before the 11th. I love the narration of January Lavoy who doesn’t add any unnecessary accent or effects with her reading. It’s supposed to be a book reading and not a radio drama. I am as entertained as always with James storytelling but this one I enjoyed very much.

I enjoyed every minute of the book. Phoebe read it with her own take. It added charm to the characters.
