The style of writing is terribly hard to listen to and NOT like other Marian Keyes books at all. If this had been the first book of hers I would have never read another. Even though the style was awful, I wanted to hear the story through as the story itself was ok, good even but half way through, it changed to a totally different book!! I shuffled forward and sure enough, it was a whole other book.

Contrary to popular opinion, if you have been diagnosed with type two diabetes or pre-diabetes, you need not resign yourself to a life of deteriorating health and complex regimens of testing and medications. Science and modern research show that a proper diet and exercise routine can absolutely reduce your blood sugar levels and keep them in the healthy range daily, freeing you from insulin dependence and the other drugs that facilitate the normalizing of your blood glucose day in and day out.

She's even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy. And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed.

For me, the “bad guy” came out of left field.

This was my first Marian Keyes book and will not be the last. This follows the emotional journey of a couple experiencing a test of their relationship. It was so relatable and I think any married person could see this scenario happening because life is complicated and nothing is ever guaranteed.
I loved the narrator however her take on the Geordie accent was pretty average. I’ll listen to this again for sure.

What if they hadn't gone? That's the question Clementine can't stop asking herself. It was just a backyard barbeque. They didn't know their hosts that well. They were friends of friends. They could so easily have said no. But she and her husband, Sam, said yes, and now they can never change what they did and didn't do that beautiful winter's day.
