I’m be listened to the first three in this series and this one has been the best yet. Sadly I’ve had to return the 4th as the narrator is nowhere near the standard of the first three. I hope they re-record it with a different author cause I’d love to hear the story. Graham Masterson has been a really exciting find for me!

I’ve enjoyed a few Jo Spain books now but this one was my favourite so far. Male narrator was brilliant at JP. Loved the story, kept me guessing. Worth a credit.

I usually like a bit more bang for my buck but I made the exception because I love Dervla McTiernan’s writing and Aofie McMahon is my absolute favourite narrator. Would prefer a good long novel.

I love Anna Jacobs but listening to this one feat like listening to a condensed version of all of her other stories. Very predictable, quite disappointing.

Ok so this wasn’t a terrible listen, the narrator was exceptional but the story was just completely different to anything I’ve listened to and I was confused by the ending.

A lovely read by Kate Binchy who absolutely brings Maeve Binchy’s characters to life. I shed a few tears in this story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one, Anna Jacobs drops you right back into the early 1900’s and you feel the frustration and hardships that lots of women endured in a mans world. The only annoying thing for me is some of the characters she writes I find unbelievable. In this one the brother was weak and a bit dumb and I found it hard to believe anyone could overlook things that are right in front of him.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. It was “ok” but a lot of the time I was wondering “where is this going?” Not even close to the Bronze Horseman. Narrator was average, I didn’t enjoy some of the accents he chose or his take on female voices.

I love Anna Jacobs books but this story was a bit weak. Mainly the ending but I guess there’s more in the series. What I found really distracting was the recording. I could hear the narrator swallowing, licking her lips, and breathing. I know they are normal things for a person to do but to hear it in my ears so loudly was like nails on a chalkboard.

I tried, I really tried.

I had about 6 attempts at this book and each time I got bored and went onto another book thinking maybe I just wasn’t in the right frame of mind. I don’t know what it was about it as I have loved Diney Costeloe’s other books. Sadly I had to return this one.
