Danny is only five years old, but in the words of old Mr Hallorann he is a 'shiner', aglow with psychic voltage. When his father becomes caretaker of the Overlook Hotel, Danny's visions grow out of control. As winter closes in and blizzards cut them off, the hotel seems to develop a life of its own. It is meant to be empty. So who is the lady in Room 217, and who are the masked guests going up and down in the elevator? And why do the hedges shaped like animals seem so alive?

Furious. Every 4 minutes or so it fades for several seconds. I’ve tried everything to troubleshoot it and NO ONE CARES, so I give up.

Incredibly frustrating. Ruins the entire experience. Get it together Apple, this is enough to make people swap phones and cancel audible.

An unknown vessel, not of this world, materialises in London. A colossal figure towering over the city, it makes no move. Is this a peaceful first contact or the prelude to an invasion? Every child has nightmares. But the only thing scarier than little Eva Reyes' dreams - apocalyptic visions of death and destruction - is the habit they have of coming true. Scientist Dr Rose Franklin has no memory of the last few years. The strangers she works with say she died, and was brought back to life. The question is not just how...but why?

Excellent sequel. All the interviews take a bit of getting used to, without any normal narration. I found it fairly annoying they changed the audiobook actors though. You get used to a character’s voice and then someone else is playing them. Consistency please audible! Contracts!

Great story and I’m looking forward to seeing how it ends.

In June of 1999, Stephen King was hit by a van while walking along the shoulder of a country road in Maine. Six operations were required to save his life and mend his broken body. When he was finally able to sit up, he immediately started writing. This book - part biography, part a collection of tips for the aspiring writer - is the extraordinary result.

I’m going to make this really short, because I have a life to live and I’m busy. This book has changed my life. It has made me appreciate Stephen King in a whole new light and has filled me with a much needed excitement about writing again. I also had a few laughs along the way (gotta love his wit and tongue in cheek humour). I wish King was my dad, really. And maybe after listening to this, he might feel like that no nonsense father who just wants the best for you, for everyone. Enjoy. Jakob
