I became an accredited Precision Nutrition Level 2 coach just as COVID hit, and decided to move all my clients online. Change Makers also came out around this time, and I read the book to gain more clarity and direction for what to do next. Unfortunately, I didn’t fully absorb the information or do the work the first time I read the book, and these past few months I became distracted by shiny objects and online businesses coaches promising 6-figures to work with them. Recently I revisited Change Makers and it truly is the eye of the storm. Right now more than ever, the health and fitness industry is noisey and overcrowded, especially online. Change Makers removes all the fluff, and gets straight to the meat and potatoes of what’s truly important for being an effective agent for positive change in this industry. My favourite section of the book is Chapter 4: Coaching. I regularly use the client questions provided to help me listen more compassionately to their worries and concerns, and to give clients the agency to come up with their own solutions and next actions steps. Change Makers provides practical, timeless direction on how to run a successful business, focussed on providing great value, building meaningful relationships and using client-centred coaching.
