Reacher is trained to notice things. He’s on a Greyhound bus, watching an elderly man sleeping in his seat, with a fat envelope of cash hanging out of his pocket. I’ve been looking forward to the release of this book for 6 months and downloaded it as soon as it was released.
My only regret is it is now finished and I’ll have to wait another 12 months ... although I’ll probably have a reread in a couple of months and enjoy the rough justice all over again

Story is brave and takes on a future with AI and human implants. I don’t know why but it took me the first third of the book to become interested. Maybe I was easily distracted but didn’t stick a single main storyline, instead tried to interweave a number of storylines. I didn’t like the storyline of Adam. As a class 4 AI his strategic thought would have been far superior to cat. Anyway onto book 4 with a hope the excellence built in the first 2 books continues on

I read his later series Amos decker and John puller first and thought these were excellent and on the list for a reread in a couple of years. This is obviously and earlier work and while the dynamics of king and maxwell were really well crafted I just found the twists at the end a little less than the build up. Also what happened to book 2 in the series ... what’s the point of having a series of you are missing book? I’m trying the camel club now and giving this series a miss ... shame
