They call them the custard tarts - the girls who work at Pearce Duff's custard powder factory in Bermondsey before the First World War. A great read about life in England starting in the year 1910. The struggles of the time to keep families together and put bread on the table.
It was easy to get hooked on the characters as you followed their hardship. A great reminder of how easy life is today.
