I loved this book. Had everything I want in a book. String female character, little angst, no manipulation, fantastic chemistry and steam as well. Great pace too and the relationship kept going forward. Great narrators too. If I could give it more stars I would.

I’m sorry but I only got 4 chapters in. Couldn’t listen to the female narrator any longer. The story seemed fine though.

I have conflicted feelings over this series. I don’t mind a bit of angst but this series was over the top. If the writing wasn’t good I’m not sure if I would have lasted until the end. In real life no one would survive a relationship with so little trust and no communication. Even after finally sorting through their problems more than half way through the third book, Brooklyn still does a runner. Lots of steam, but it’s a frustrating and predictable read.

Loved all 6 books of the buttons series. Great strong female characters which is so lacking in many books. Off to read Penelope’s next series. Love it when I find a new author and know I have so many books to read!

You know you’ve read a great book when 24 hours later you’re still thinking about the characters. A great conclusion to the smoke and mirrors duet. You’ll fall in love with Josh and Adeline, and wonder how much of this happens in real royal life.

What a great storyline. The characters are both strong and lovable, the chemistry through the roof and only enough angst to make the characters fight to be together without being over the top. Can’t wait to read the next book in the duet.

Really enjoyed this book. I love a book with a strong female lead and Anna English does not disappoint, even after all she goes through at the start with a cheating husband. Court is not at all like he was depicted in earlier books in the series. Chemistry between the two was off the charts. Angst not over the top and loved their HEA.

This has to one of the most frustrating and annoying books I’ve read in a long time. Starts off well, quick marriage of convenience, chemistry and sex off the charts. Then bang, after the first night together they barely talk even though they sleep in interconnecting rooms and only kiss for other people’s benefit. This goes on for more than 6 months even though neither of them want this. It only gets more frustrating after this and too top it off, when his family uncover that the marriage was of convenience, which he instigated, his family shun her! WTF! Anyway at least the narration was good.

I’ve read Katy Evans before and with Jacob Morgan narrating I was looking forward to reading thus book. However I totally didn’t like the female lead. For someone so book smart, she was too insecure and immature. By about half way through the book her character finally proved and I thought, yes can’t wait for the HEA. Only to be put through another bout of over the top insecurity. Unless you like your books to be totally frustrating, don’t bother.

My first ever read of Lauren Rowe and I loved the whole trilogy. The chemistry between the main characters was electric. There was angst but nothing over the top and not dragged on forever. When the couple commits, there is openness. Not constant back and forth and betrayal. The supporting characters are great and I’m now going back to the start of her books. The same characters appear throughout her books and I love this.
