Beautiful relaxing ASMR series. My favourite is The Office. I kept missing the ending as I would be asleep by halfway

Really enjoyed this. Shame there wasn’t more available from Whisperlodge. Fell asleep so quickly listening to his soothing voice.

Loved this new novel from Mark Edwards. It wasn’t exactly the story I was expecting but nevertheless it was throughly enjoyable. Highly recommended for lovers of psychological thrillers.
The narrators both did a marvelous job.

Brilliant.

Thoroughly enjoyed my second novel from this writer. It was excellent, made my workouts and commutes much easier while listening to this.
The reader did a wonderful job with the different characters too. Look forward to another book.

I thoroughly enjoyed my second novel from this author, although it did take me slightly longer to be drawn into it unlike The Girl Before, but after as the story picked up I couldn’t stop listening. Well worth the patience. Will go on and get the next one.

That narrator! Argh 🤬

Good grief this woman narrating! What is this accent this daft woman is using, gosh this made me mad, I wouldn’t of bought this on audio if I had of known it was as bad as this, I would of stuck to print. I recommend future buyers to avoid this audio at all costs! Read other reviews on the bad accents the reader uses.
I found I started to resent the lead character, Sophies character was supposed to be an intellectual but the accent sounded like something from either Geordie Shore or Housos.
It ruined this for me as it distracts from the story.
Why would M.E use such an inexperienced voice actor!! Grrrrrr.

A few disappointing things.

I am a bit disappointed with this one, after thoroughly enjoying Here to Stay and The Magpies I was excited to begin the next novel I had purchased from Mark Edwards, but I found it no where near as good as the previous. Firstly the sex scenes and smutty sex talk I found a bit unnecessary, it sounds like a sexually frustrated young male talking, a bit tacky, not to sound like a prude, just a little over the top I think. I found it embarrassing when I had this audiobook playing out loud at home I would have to run to grab remote to turn volume down.

Second issue was I started to dislike the main character, his constant inner dialogue and failure to act like a rational person became tedious. I dislike pathetic characters and found some in this book to be just that.

Overall I don’t think this was on the same level as the others I have read. Only plus was the reader I found excellent, I liked his take on female voices and thought he did well with them. He does have a gentle voice which I found soothing reading whilst going to sleep.

Emotional Rollercoaster

Loved this book, I found myself getting
emotionally involved even actually feeling stressed at some of the decisions the characters had made. I was devastated upon the ending. Went on to purchase the rest of Mark Edwards books. Great stories!
