This was one of the best in the series, I enjoyed every minute of it. The narrator was excellent - as usual, and the story kept me up late at night when I should have been asleep, there were parts so funny that I burst out laughing at like 3:00 am in the morning - I'm fairly sure my neighbours think I'm insane. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series, I have high hopes for this universe, high hopes indeed. I recommend this 10/10

So so good.

This was perhaps the best thing my ears have heard in years. I highly recommend this. Hopefully there's a few more on the way.

Every now and then a book comes along that blows your mind. I know it's short but it makes up for it in awesomeness. It's so rare to find a good first person perspective narrator, such an amazingly unique voice. I tip my hat to you, you have done something that I didn't believe was possible 👏

Great from beginning to end 👌👏

After the long build up and character development of book 1 this book does not disappoint. There's a lot of action all the way through, and it's good. I started reading it and thought "wow this is good" and it stayed that way all the way through. Although I gave it 5 stars I will add that it's not brilliantly good, with the introduction of new characters in a new setting I found I didn't have the emotional investment that I had with those in book 1 after it's great character development, although I tried to love them it was a challenge. This books got a great beginning and a great ending so I can't complain too much, I'm looking forward to the next in the series & as a sci-fi fan I'm excited that Brandon Sanderson is branching out into the genre after all his fantasy books, it feels like Sanderson is just flexing his writing muscles here.

I really admire this author, he knows how to tell a story. The dialog is engaging and the characters are well developed, enen if there is a teenage romance thread going on in the background that I find a little trope. There's a few mistakes in the book but the story is engaging and I'll keep listening because it's Skippy the magnificent and a bunch of stupid monkeys flying around in space.

I've gone through so many books and this one stands out like a gold nugget in a river of common stones. Fantastic, I will go mad if I can't read the next one soon.

I really enjoyed this.

I really enjoyed the duel storylines of Connor and the other guy, the emotionally immature one who captains the ship. I could almost hear the author trying not to say "Stargate" but it worked and worked quite well. It's a good book, I enjoyed the action but it was too constant, I would have liked to linger on the not so action packed scenes as they are important too after all life's not all beer and skittles. I gave the book 5 stars because it said "Internal heads up Display" a lot less than the last book also for being a great story in it's scope and character development, the protagonists were flawed and inspiring, human yet more than human, relatable. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to hear the next one.

It's a fun book but don't think too hard about the science, dialogue and character interactions because you will become frustrated, just go with it, enjoy the ride and let your own imagination fill in the gaps. Also I am sick of hearing "Internal Heads Up Display" seriously if I never hear Internal Heads Up Display again I'll die in peace. I am enjoying this though and looking forward to the next book.

I wasn't sure about this book before I started but it proved to be one of the best sifi books I've read. It's not a grand space opera but it's perfect for what it is - a damn great story. I liked the captain, he was relatable and very human. I'm about to get the next book in the series, I can't wait. Trust me here I'm currently sitting on a total listening time of 6 months, I've read the good with the ordinary and I really enjoyed this book. Give it a chance, strap yourself in for a wild ride.

Great story.
