I really like Dr Michael Mosley but I found there was a bit too much self promotion in this audiobook. All of his references and encouragement to read his other books really turned me off. Good information when it was released but it has rapidly become outdated.

I really enjoyed listening to this and I was grateful it didn’t go too long as it was easy to listen to in an afternoon. I’ve taken away some great advice so now it’s up to me to put GEM into practice 👍🏽 It’s also wonderful that mental health is now finally being seen as such an important aspect in people’s lives and people are starting to have the conversation, especially for men.

Wow! Such a perfectly written and totally gripping story

I absolutely and totally loved listening to this story. It was so well written and the narrator was fantastic in his delivery. I love how the story was told in two parts which gradually came together. The descriptions of characters and events had me completely immersed and the thing that really amazed me is that I never watch cricket but that didn’t matter. Such a good story! Highly recommended :-)

I feel very lucky to have been able to listen to Jack himself tell the story of his life. I will hope that more Aboriginal people from the ‘stolen generation’ will share their stories in a bid to help others actually see what these people went through and to see how such atrocities can impact on society as a whole for years to come. Thanks Jack! You’re a true legend :-)

I really loved this book. It’s not often that I think I’d like to read it again but I think I just might! But before I do, I have this need to ‘google’ Robyn Davidson to put a face to her story but something tells me I won’t see many photos. What a wonderful and courageous person! Thank you for sharing your story :-)

In planning a holiday to China, I thought I’d have a listen to this audio book. The information was well presented and easy to follow. I just hope what I have heard is accurate. Either way, I’d recommend this book.

Really enjoyed listening to this book. It was well presented with lots of humour mixed in with some not so humorous events.

I listened to this audio book based on the huge number of positive ratings and I'm so very pleased I did. Such good advice, very motivational delivery and also very entertaining to listen to which is probably surprising for something that involves money. I'd also say that listening to the audio book would have to be more entertaining than just reading the book yourself as it's narrated by the author who has a good delivery. It's written by an Australian so much of what he talks and jokes about is directed at the Aussie audience but people from other countries would also benefit from the advice. The one thing I didn't really like was the reference to specific businesses and companies (such as superannuation). I know the author says he gets no kickbacks from these companies but I feel people should do their own research because I'm sure a huge number of people would be lazy and just go straight to who he recommends and unless these recommendations are updated a few times a year, some companies may take advantage of all the new customers and rip them off. Overall a really wonderful book though :)

Right from the start I didn’t like the redneck bogan narrative, who incidentally sounds like he smokes a pack of cigarettes a day, but after he started referring to Aboriginal people as being lazy and seemingly had nothing nice to say about the real first Australians, I had heard enough and turned it off in disgust. What a load of rot! Don’t waste your time on this garbage.
