Not bad but not his best. I still think his best work was a non Bosch novel-"The Poet"-but I do enjoy Bosch. I guess I have to get used to less and less Bosch until he finally dies-probably from leukaemia- then we will have the crime fighting trio of Uncle Micky, Maddie and Ballard? overall a good yarn.

Loved it. With a teenage grandaughter and grandson myself I thought the author had nailed Maddie 's characterisation. Realistic court room scenes. Upto date references such as Bosch ' s use of Uber which has just been legalized in my part of the world. Maybe a little too much glossing over the shooting incidents. Maybe unrealistic but helped by excellent drama build up and again Bosch being dragged into the 21st century use of smart phones. Great read and Tolliver nailed it!

Exceptional!

Is this the end? I hope not. There is much more for Harry to contribute to the Cold Case unit surely?
