The narrator made the book come alive. The language was so clever at times funny always intuitive. Very astute picture of life in Ireland during the 1970s.

A thoughtful book. Is it autobiographical? Certainly it’s about the influences of the past. Well researched and interesting detail.

The book was a thrill to listen to. The narrator was terrific. The main character was a bit too melodramatic but overall the story was suspenseful and entertaining.

Cannot speak more highly of the book and the narration. Could not stop listening. Beautifully written plus marvellous story. Cathleen McCarron was a terrific story teller and her depiction of different characters was perfect including the Scottish accents.
