This book will make you uncomfortable. It is amazing. I pressed pause so many times to reflect and pray and mull over the truths read out.
Francis narrating it himself is a wonderful touch because I feel like I’m listening to him over the phone.
You will be challenged, encouraged and grow, just be open and allow God to move your heart.

The story continues at a good pace. It wasn’t rushed and lots of pieces fell into place nicely.

Loved it. The second book brings enough pieces together to keep the story going and still leaves a delightful amount of unanswered questions by the end. The characters develop and the cores of their personalities are tested. Can’t wait for the next book.

It felt rushed.
It added more to the characters but not to the main story.
Still read well.

An interesting adventure that highlights the highs and lows of medieval battle. The story does shrink away form injustices that happen. Paksenarrion’s strong female character is not forced upon the listener but built up as the story continues.

I’ve enjoyed this series and have fallen in love with the characters but this one is my favourite.
The case is more complicated as are the characters and I’m never quite sure when I can relax. For me it stands out from the other books in the series.

I have enjoyed the series immensely. This book has just topped it. I’m constantly laughing or freezing as I wait for the characters to get out of a tight spot. It’s realistic is sorrows and joys, making it so much better to engage with. The story keeps me guessing and I find myself constantly having to change my theories about how it’s going to turn out.
The narrator is excellent. Especially with the execution of the witt exchanged between characters.
