I have never binged an audiobook so thoroughly and as quickly as this one. Usually I listen to audiobooks in the car on the way to work. But with the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, I found myself taking the long way home so I could keep listening. Essential reading, regardless of your age or ethnicity.

Miller’s reimagining of the mythological Circe is filled with intrigue, adventure and suspense. All of which is tied together with eloquent prose and remarkable characterisation. The narration by Perdita Weeks gives Circe a tangible voice which may have been missed on the written page. Overall I couldn’t recommend this audiobook more.

I entered this with great scepticism. As a man I was inherently cautious when entering into this, thinking it was going to be an emblazoned manifesto on all the wrongs of man. I was wrong. Ford’s book is fair, passionate, and all too necessary. She adequately illustrates the wrongs perpetrated by men in power, the role of popular culture, and how these contaminate our everyday conceptions and expectations of what a man or woman should look like or act. This book will make you angry and as well it should. But it also teaches you how to create change for the better of all genders.

I loved this book, and Stechschulte's narration is gorgeous. 100% recommend for any lover of McCarthy, or lover of truly great literature
