Would have given this 5 stars, excellent story, greater technical detail...but for one, incredibly annoying, whiny child.

I could listen to these two tit about all day

My first Neil Gaiman and I loved it. The narrator was great. Enjoyable to the very end. A few late nights as it was hard to stop listening.

Great space zombie adventure

Easy read, lots of action, narrated well. Pretty gruesome in parts. Han Solo one-liners became a bit annoying and seemed really out of place in context of the story.

An old favourite that hasn’t aged well.

I read this book many years ago and loved it. A gritty war epic, it follows a group of raw recruits, from boot camp to the pacific campaign. It’s easy to become close to the characters as they train, fight, and drink their way through ww2 Finally listened to the audible and I’m trying to remember why I liked it so much. I had trouble listening to their encounters with women who they treated like trash; how the men who cheated on their women back home were just poor lonely boys, while the women they lay with were sluts. The narrator was ok. The female voices were a bit whiny and the NewZealand accent was almost comical. I made it through to the end and was glad I did. It made me realise how much I’d changed.
