I wanted to start with the major negative I found with this audiobook - Simply put; the narrator is not very good, often with questionable pronunciations and even worse emphasis and emotion in certain places. It often ruined certain scenes as the narrator clearly goes against what the narrative is trying to portray. He is often monotone and I found is ruined the story.

Other than the performance, I really enjoyed the story and liked the characters and personalities and highly recommend the book to anyone interested in a satisfying revenge story.

Personally I love the book; I love the setting and the narration is fantastic. The main character is acceptable although sometimes confusing. However I also have to talk about the negatives and voice my personal opinion in case it means anything. The biggest issue that I have with the audiobook is that the music and sound effects were honestly repetitive, annoying and often overpowering. Occasionally it is used well but 90% of the time it's still so overpowering that it distracts from the narrative. I know not everyone will agree but its my personal review.

Satisfying yet flawed

First I have to say the performance is absolutely amazing and I hope all the narrators keep up the good work. The story is satisfying however doesn't leave much up for the imagination by the end. The major flaw to the story which I feel warrants lowering the overall rating of the story is character development. The multiple time-skips within the novel doesn't leave room for characters to grow and rather just feels like a power spike for the plot to move forward. By the end it leaves an indifferent feeling about the series.

I love this book sooo much, its very different from Andrew Rowe's previous works as this book feels more relaxed and creatively free. This book is overall a great time and Nick Podehl does an amazing job bringing out the humour and imagination as usual. I feel like this one is better written as well as I had a much more enjoyable experience and there are moments when Keres jabs the other books for certain things which I actually agree with as an authors self reflection. Absolutely amazing.
