Loved the idea of bringing characters from all walks of life, who experienced similar emotions regarding the burial of the unknown soldier after WW1.

Crime stories can get complicated, especially if you dip in and out over time. Apart from being a wonderful story, the clever author manages to weave in a summary of the plot, in various parts of the book. This keeps the reader on track to really enjoy the unfolding story. Wonderful characters too.

Loved this audio book. Especially as the author narrates. I told all my friends about this book. How inspirational, seeded from coincidences and unexpected positive outcomes. The principles of this book are simple but easy to understand and follow. It changed my thoughts at a time when I needed some positivity.

I love Tom Keneally, but the subject matter was depressing, especially as you became very invested with the main characters.

The setting and situation is depressing, set in a Scottish cabin park in the rain. This short book spends most of the time introducing the many characters, where nothing really happens until right at the end.

Beautifully written but it's a slow read, with over abundant description and detail, especially when it came to child birth. The details could be alarming for any women who have not gone through the experience. It was slow and depressing for most of the book, where the storyline suddenly speeded up at the end.

It’s hard to believe this book is fiction, the way it’s laid out in a documentary style, makes it so realistic. I loved all the characters and the time it was set, brilliant!!

How amazing that two people could find each other in a death camp during the war. Their love helped them survive the horrors they faced. I really well told story. I absolutely loved it.

It took a while to establish the characters but the story really started to sizzle in the second half of the book. There was a great twist at the end that I wasn’t expecting.
